While studying for the Bar exam earlier this summer, I spent my days in leggings, oversized t-shirts (most often stolen from my boyfriend’s dresser drawer) and flip flops. This overly casual garb is a stark contrast to what I wore last summer – business casual attire and heels every single day. To be perfectly honest, I miss dressing up. I miss wearing pencil skirt and silk shells. I miss doing my hair and makeup daily. But most of all, I miss heels. I’m on the short side of the spectrum (just under 5’3) so I absolutely adore any shoes that give me a few extra inches. For a girl who hasn’t worn heels in a few months, wedges are the perfect way to ease back into my former stiletto style. Also, wedges are perfectly appropriate for these sweltering summer months. Here are a few of my favorite summer wedges:
Volatile ‘Physical’ Slingback Sandal $49.95
Jessica Simpson ‘Crepe’ Wedge Sandal $78.95
Sam Edelman ‘Katrice’ Wedge Sandal $158.95
Elizabeth and James ‘Halo’ Macrame Wedge Sandal $240
Which pair is your favorite? Are you a fan of wedges?
I absolutely adore wedges. I used to work in a corporate environment and had to dress in heels every day. When I was pregnant, wedges saved my life! I literally wore them until the day I gave birth. ha! They are just so comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI own the JS Crepe wedge sandal in black. They are very comfortable.
Love wedges, especially the Jessica Simpson ones!

I love the 4th pair, I'm obsessed with stripes! http://washingtondcfashion.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI love the Volatile ones. I have a pair of Volatile wedges from a few years ago (that I'd totally forgotten about until now) and they are surprisingly comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI love the Sam Edelman pair. They feel more substantial than summer wedges so they can be worn into the Fall.

I really love the Sam Edelman's, I'm pretty sure that I was ogling them online a few weeks back. And the Elizabeth and James shoes aren't bad either. Obviously I go for the most expensive ones! I hardly ever wear heels but this year I'm coming to see the appeal of wedges, like you!
ReplyDeleteI really like the first pair...love shoes with bows!
